The Journey of Agatha
Hello, book lovers of I.K. Vijlivala's adventures!
Today, I come with another part of I.K. Vijlivala’s thrilling series — “Journey of Agatha.”
Before you read this blog, I suggest you go through the previous parts.
1-9-1911
The day began with a fearful mystery. A thief entered Deek’s shop with a powerful gun and shouted, “Give me all your precious diamonds and do not press the button!”
Our hero was in trouble. Two guards were supposedly on duty — then how did the thief enter?
Suddenly, Matadi arrived and struck the thief, making him unconscious. Deek went outside in search of his guards, but they were missing. He later found them in the market eating candy. Deek got angry, and they realized their mistake and asked for forgiveness.
Matadi and Kvazi arrived with new information about an adventure. The destination was Agatha, a place said to hold many unsolved mysteries of the universe. Our heroes, as you know, are always ready for an adventure.
When the thief woke up, everyone was shocked — it was Redish, a pirate they had met during the adventure “A Find of the Missing Friend.”Our heroes had once given him endless diamonds, but his son had wasted all the wealth on gambling and alcohol. Now, his son had sent him to steal a powerful key that could open any door in Egypt’s caves. When Redish learned about Sondeniya, he requested to join the heroes, explaining that the path was full of pirates and he could be useful.
Before beginning the journey, Deek, Poll, and Hesling visited Dhuni Kaka, who was unwell. A nurse had requested Hesling, “If you visit your uncle, he might feel better.”
They traveled to Zizudak, and as the nurse said, Dhuni Kaka felt enthusiastic after meeting them. He gave them two gifts:
A root that could create a wall of smoke.
A weapon capable of breaking rocks.
Beginning the Journey
The team boarded Matadi’s ship. Midway, they encountered pirates attacking a merchant ship. Using advanced weapons, Matadi defeated them, and they safely reached Sandeniya.
To continue, they needed a local guide. They chose Venuto. The journey restarted and they reached Santu Antim Newrage. However, Venuto forgot the route. Heavy rain began, and they entered Newrage accidentally.
It was a full moon night, and as legends say — “Aliens visit on such nights.”
Suddenly, two tall men came from space and entered a cave. Our heroes followed them. Inside were glowing diamonds. Suddenly, the lights changed, and everyone fell asleep — except Deek and Maikale Kaka, who pretended to sleep.
Some beings carried them to Jeram, the leader of Tora. He recognized their act and started a conversation. They were in Telus City of Agatha, where many mysterious things existed:
Glowing, giant flowers
Buildings of the same height
A painless sun that gave energy without fatigue
Absolute silence
A Sacred Mission
Every thing covered with gold
The rest of the team woke up, confused. Maikale Kaka explained everything. But the biggest mystery remained:
“What do the giants want from us?”
Jeram said, “We need your help to retrieve the Holy Books that were stolen by a rogue soldier group. They are trying to give them to the Dera — a tribe of evil giants. Only you can go there because powerful magnetic forces at North part of Mexico prevent us and Dera from entering.”
Our heroes agreed. They traveled using a special vehicle called the Boat of Sand. They recovered the books, which contained:
Space mysteries
The formula to make gold
Dera’s men arrived with Lezerguns, but our heroes used their advanced weapons and defeated them.Fearing Jeram’s earlier words — “If someone enters Agatha, they never leave” — our heroes tried to escape. Jeram caught them but confessed,
“I can tell a hundred lies for the Holy Books.”
"The horror! The horror!"
— Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness
Escape & Redemption
Using a magic bottle given by Dhuni Kaka, they escaped to the forests near Shambela, the capital of Agatha. There, a group of giant elephants (Maimaths) approached. The heroes prepared to defend themselves, but a voice called out,
“Don’t hurt them. They mean no harm.”
It was Saint Beningo. He discussed the Holy Books, Tera, and Dera. He turned normal guns into golden guns.
At first, the heroes hesitated to give the books, but eventually did. Venuto was reunited with his lost brother. Redish’s son, seeking revenge, also arrived — but Deek told him,
“The treasure is cursed. You can’t take it.”
He realized his mistake and promised to quit gambling and drinking.
All heroes returned from Agatha. At the end, Deek met Micanaten. She apologized:
“I wanted to send you to Sandeniya to help Saint Beningo, but Jeram changed the story and I couldn’t help.”
She gave him a piece of the key.
“ All is well, that end well.”
— William Shakespeare
